A pretty standard fare week at this point for me.  I’m working my way through Voltron at a pretty good pace, which while having about three more seasons for me to watch doesn’t have a ton of episodes to each.  I should be finished up in a scant few weeks, then will turn my attention to other things as yet undecided.  Maybe Disney+ will have added the Spanish dub for the last season of Ducktales by then, I’m getting annoyed waiting for that.

El Señor del Caos continues to be enjoyable, if slow, as I work my way through it bit by bit every week.  I’m definitely enjoying the series at this point, but it’s a bit of a bummer that I can only get through roughly a tenth of it per week at my normal reading rate, so I’m sort of lashed to it for the next two months.  Which is fine, as I said, I’m enjoying it, but where my watching practice stuff is frequently plagued by things not lasting for very long so I have to keep hunting for new things, my reading suffers from the opposite problem.  I suppose having those opposites makes it interesting, but on the other hand, it’d be nice if both of them were more in the just-right range of length instead.

And as we’ve finished off the month of July, let’s look back on the month as a whole as well.

  • Total Watching/Listening: 45 tv episodes and 31 youtube videos watched, 1,560 minutes
  • Total Reading: 2/5 whole books read, 1,890 minutes
  • Total Writing: 0 words written, 0 minutes
  • Total Speaking: reading out loud, 660 minutes
  • Total Time: 57 hours 30 minutes

And here’s the breakdown for money spent.

  • El Señor del Caos, Fiction, ebook, Amazon, $7.61
  • Gideon la Novena, Fiction, ebook, Amazon, $10.87
  • Netflix Subscription Standard HD Plan, Television and Movie Streaming, $10.99 per month, $10.99
  • Disney+ Subscription, Television and Movie Streaming, $6.99 per month, $6.99
  • Amount Spent on Fiction Books: $18.48
  • Amount Spent on Services: $17.98
  • Total Spent: $36.46

A pretty good month, I’ve gotta say.  Things are pretty static at this point, so there isn’t a ton to comment on.  I’ve been working on things on a pretty predictable schedule, with weekdays mostly ‘read for an hour and a half, watch two episodes of tv and one of youtube’ with a bit of watching on the weekends thrown in, and that certainly works for me.  As this blog and project have shifted over the course of the year, my biggest, most pressing concerns have been around keeping everything sustainable, and this definitely feels sustainable to me.

In the world of writing, things have been a bit uneven for me, unfortunately, as after finishing a particularly thorny project in June, I took some time off at the beginning of the month to chill out, then wrote something short, then took another break while plagued with choice paralysis.  As a result, I only got 6,152 words down for the month.  Launching into August, I finally squared away what all I was working on next, so hopefully it’ll be quite different looking this time in September.

That’s all I got for this one, bit lean, I know, but we’re at a nice, lean level right now.  Wish I could say the same for my waistline.  TTFN.
