March 2022 Monthly Recap

For how much these last few weeks have meant to me, don't have much to blog.

My little hiatus to spend time with my partner has sadly come to an end, but that means I’m back in the thick of things and working on Japanese again, so let’s take a look at a nice long double-week’s worth of numbers, and prepare to be slightly underwhelmed considering the distinct lack of work during the time I was with my partner.

This chunk of time was a very much needed breather for me, and while needing to switch gears and go ‘back to normal’ was a real pain, I am feeling much better and more refreshed than I have felt in a very long time.  In that regard, it was a major success.  I am also feeling better about things with really focusing on Japanese again.  I haven’t done much in that refocus as of yet, as I’m waiting for a pretty big changeup at work first, but the time I’m spending on Duolingo is starting to feel a bit more productive anyway, as my brain’s in a less fuzzed out, ‘okay, just gotta get through this’ state with it.  I’m ready to push myself more when the rest of my life allows, which should be pretty soon.

We are starting to get pretty deep into April now, but thanks to the skipped week, we do have the tail end of March to look at and wrap up.

  • Total Duolingo: 310 lessons completed, 1,860 minutes
  • Total Time: 31 hours 0 minutes

And here’s the breakdown for money spent.

  • Netflix Subscription Standard HD Plan, Television and Movie Streaming, $10.99 per month, $10.99
  • Disney+ Subscription, Television and Movie Streaming, $6.99 per month, $6.99
  • Amount Spent on Services: $17.98
  • Total Spent: $17.98

As my vacation didn’t start until April, a pretty normal month at the end of the day, April’s the one that’s gonna look funky.  I’m hoping for funky-good when we’re looking back at it in May, hopefully with pushing on into stuff that makes me feel like I’m not stagnating, but we shall see on that, as some things are a bit up in the air.

That’s really all I’ve got for this one, these last two weeks were wildly eventful for me, but not really in a way that applies to the scope of this blog, so we’re ending a bit lean on the content here.  Bigger things with the project are coming around the corner, I think, but long term things often end up having these ebbs and flows whether we want them or not.  Until next week, TTFN.

    1. Hi, yeah, I am okay, life has just gotten way in the way lately (in a good way, mind you) that really derailed my focus on this project and language learning in general. I’ve been meaning to write an update blog about what’s going on, but busy. I’ll probably do that since you asked after me. I appreciate the concern! The short version is that I’m in the middle of my partner moving in with me from halfway across the country while I’m moving out of my current arrangement with roommates into a new place in town here with her, and it’s been a disaster for me to try and focus on anything else.

      1. I know what you mean. I hate when life catches up with me. As being a lifelong learner of English myself, I enjoy reading about your endeavour to master the foreing languages and I think I haven’t missed any of your posts so far. You have clearly gotten a knack for writing. Keep up a good work.
