A pretty reasonable week overall.  Nothing super exciting broke through the usual for me, despite having a bit unusual of a day last Wednesday by being subjected to the DMV.  Thanks to COVID, DMVs here have an appointment system now, so it ended up going a bit faster than how a DMV trip used to go, but still ate up a chunk of my morning with boredom.  On the plus side, I have a new drivers license, complete with corrected name and gender marker on the way, so overall a good week for personal stuff.

The new season of Beastars came out this week on Netflix, and as I am furry trash, I jumped from Voltron for the time being to watch the new season.  Like seemingly all Netflix shows, the season isn’t super long, so I’ll be finishing up with it shortly, then it’ll be back to Voltron, most likely.  I’ll admit that while the latter is entertaining enough, it’s made some questionable writing decisions that are kinda dragging it down in quality.  Like, at the end of a big season finale, one of the main characters vanished, and a different character took the leadership role as a result, changing things up and making the characters need to learn how to work together again … and … then … two or three episodes later the disappeared character showed back up and things shifted again, and the whole thing felt off.  Like, it felt like it ought to have been planned where new leader would be there for at least one season before getting the original one back, but due to, like, outside circumstances they had to scramble to do something else, like from feedback or something, but this is a Netflix show, they make whole seasons in advance, so it was planned out the way it ended up happening.  And I’m just like … buh?  Anyway, it’s still mostly good, I’m looking forward to finishing it.

Progress continues at the normal, sorta sleepy pace working my way through El Señor del Caos, thanks to its ridiculous length.  I’m enjoying this one without reservations, though, I feel like these books have finally found their groove for me.  I’m definitely planning on buying the next Memorias de Idhún book well ahead of time so I can switch off on it for the next time.

Anwyay, that’ll do for this one, TTFN.

    1. heh, I probably could drop it, though while I’m not counting it as time spent, I AM still doing a single lesson every day, which takes a bare couple minutes for me so it rounds down to nothing, for no other reason than to keep my streak alive. Streak’s up to 1196 days, and the organization-obsessed part of my brain really doesn’t want that to drop, lol. You’re right that it’s basically meaningless to include it at this point for the blog, though, maybe I will just drop it from the roundup.
