After last week’s total changeup while I was out living my best life, things went back to normal with relative ease. I did not, as I suspected, catch my second wind on Tuesday and let my vacation come to a peaceful end at home repairing my sleep schedule to the best of my ability, then life returned to normal on Wednesday.
In taking the chunk of time off I was concerned, especially at this early of a juncture with working on Japanese, that I might come back with nothing retained and be starting from scratch, and was pleasantly surprised by what I did remember. My concern wasn’t that high, to be fair, because if I’m being honest I knew very little before the trip, so there wasn’t a terribly large amount of stuff to forget. I got back into the swing of it relatively quickly, and have continued on from there working on getting as much of it down as I can. There’s still a pretty deep, yawning chasm of knowledge to cross before I can really start in on self-directed learning, but then again I am still a total neophyte here and that’s okay. I’ll be working on weaning myself off the silly little Duolingo lessons soon and moving on to reading and watching as soon as I can, but for now I’m stuck in the baby class.
Looking forward on upcoming stuff, I admit I’m feeling a sense of uncertainty right now, because in truth, it feels like there’s a lot going on in my life that’s subject to some pretty rapid changes, depending on paths I take. I’m gently gearing up for a potential position switch within my company, which may end up resulting in some major life alterations in pretty short order, and I have some elements of my personal life that are starting to turn into something major, too. These are all good things, mind, but it makes it hard to plan for stuff. Fortunately or unfortunately, that might end up impacting peripheral stuff in my life like this blog project. Whether that comes to pass, of course, remains to be seen.
That’ll do for this little one, TTFN.
