A pretty solid week all around, no complaints to raise with myself.  I finished up Star Vs. the Forces of Evil on Monday, and overall I rather liked the show, despite its flaws.  The less than stellar shipping in the show is something that I was well prepared for going into watching it, but despite the warnings, it was still pretty painful.  Didn’t dislike it, though, mostly my experience with the show was positive.  The characters in it are great, even the ones that started off with me feeling cold toward ended up growing on me, and a lot of the stories it told were interesting.  I say stories and not just the overall story, because in truth it felt rather disjointed, like they didn’t really know what they wanted to do with the show and kept shifting gears and changing their mind about things.  Which is fine, it ended up working out pretty well, but more in a series of discrete stories, rather than as a whole.  Also finale was … weird.  I’d almost go so far as to say a baffling disaster.  Anyway, it’s over now.

Having finished the current long-running thing, I am once again between shows.  I have a bit of a backlog of youtube videos from a few different creators that tend to do longer videos that I have saved up, so I’m probably going to do a bit of cleaning up before going on to the next tv series, but that leaves the question open on what the next tv series is going to be.  I’ve heard good things about Kid Cosmic on Netflix, so I may give that one a shot, and I have a couple of things that I’ve been curious about in the backlog of older Disney shows on Disney+, stuff that I’ve been sorta meaning to see, but haven’t gotten around to ever watching, like The Proud Family.  I’m not going to say I’ll have a wealth of choices, because the last time I did I was needing to figure something else out within a week, but I’m at least not out of choices.

I crossed over the halfway point on El Ascenso de la Sombra this week, so progress continues at its slow, turtley pace to no one’s surprise.  I’m starting to look forward to the proposed break to read something else once this one’s finished, so I’m feeling like taking that break’s likely a good call.  I am overall enjoying this series of books, but I’ve got to say, I don’t quite understand why they have the sort of legendary status that they do, because frankly, they’ve just been okay.  Maybe something’s been getting lost in translation and the original English was super beautiful or something, but I dunno.  Maybe y’all just basic bitches (lol not really).

Hard to believe how quickly February is going to be over, even expecting it to be the short month.  March is nearly upon us somehow.  This year’s been moving faster than last year did for me, I don’t know if that’s just because I am a happier person than I was in 2020, or if it’s a sign that things in general are better.  Either way, I’ve got work to do, so I’m gonna get to it.  TTFN.
