A pretty normal week overall, nothing too exciting and nearly identical to last week’s.  I am progressing rapidly through Steven Universe, which has been a bit of a joy for me.  I like the show quite a bit and only really ever stumble when confronted with awkward humor, which is my Achilles’ heel.  Steven Universe has that sometimes (there was an episode I watched this weekend where Steven woke up in control of another character’s body and then masqueraded as them for a while, and that episode nearly killed me to try and get through), but it’s at least a rare event.  Most of the time I can just watch the show and enjoy myself.  If you’re curious about the episode count mismatch between Saturday and Sunday, one of the episodes on Sunday was a special double-length one.

I’ve crossed the halfway mark in Memorias de Idhún: La Resistencia this week, and I am quite enjoying it.  It’s nice having something a bit shorter to go through for a change, since I’m reading it at about the same speed as I was reading books in the La Rueda del Tiempo series—though I’d say the writing style in the Idhún books is more simplistic, so the reading’s a smidge faster—but it’s like half the length, so I feel like there’s actual momentum to the reading.  At this point, I’m still debating what to read next, because I’d be happy to just keep going with more in the Idhún series, but I’m also enjoying La Rueda del Tiempo and have significantly more of it to get through.  On the one hand, I could probably breeze through the Idhún books without it feeling like that significantly long of a break.  On the other hand, I could start interspersing them for a while, that way I can have quick and breezy palate cleansers between chewy main courses.  I’ll probably make a snap decision based on how La Resistencia ends.  If it’s really exciting and oh muh guh what happens next, I’ll probably stick with it, otherwise I’ll go back to La Rueda del Tiempo.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve really got for this week.  Next weekend I’m getting my second vaccination shot, which as I’ve heard can result in some flu-ish symptoms, so I may end up needing to disrupt things a bit, either with Spanish focus time, or with this blog itself, I’m feeling too icky to write one in Spanish or something.  If that happens, might end up with another off-week blog, or I’ll plan something else.  Bridge I’ll cross if I come to it.  That’ll do for this one, though, TTFN.
