A slightly not-really-all-that-normal week, but nothing too terribly different about it. Something I didn’t mention last blog was that I had a brief COVID scare over the previous week, where there was the potential that I had been exposed, and while I didn’t have any symptoms, my mother and my brother who would have been the connecting link to where I might have been exposed, both came down with some mild symptoms, so there was some panicking. All tests came back negative, though, so it was thankfully a false alarm. That whole thing threw me a bit off-kilter mentally and resulted in me needing to change plans regarding the thing that I did talk about last post, namely my legal name change. I got all the paperwork I needed to file, and then was told by the universe that I better quarantine if I didn’t want to be a Typhoid Mary. After I knew it was false, though, the whole off-kilter-ness of the situation drove me to taking Thursday off from work to just get the paperwork filed. So I did that, it’s filed, and I had a weekend-ish sort of day on Thursday. Exciting!
After last week’s discussion about going back to a series from Kiwillius, I decided to do that, and am enjoying it well enough, so the break was what I needed. That was interrupted by a longer stream from Daniel San GMR that I decided to watch before he took it down, and got that hammered out over the weekend in a few sittings. My watch schedule has felt good in general lately, though part of me is ready for a tv series again. Maybe I’ll rewatch something soon.
I’m nearing the end of La Gran Cacería and should finish it this upcoming week, even taking into consideration how funky the week’s going to be thanks to the holiday. I’m planning on diving straight into the next in the series afterwards, because I am enjoying it and it feels like a good series to just keep going on.
Speaking of the holidays, this next week’s going to be definitely different in the numbers department, as I have Thursday and Friday off from work. Which is good, because I definitely and feeling the need for a real break. Work’s been kinda hectic these last couple weeks, and while I like my job, it can take it out of you to have that all the time.
On a different, more positive note regarding this last week, I started writing fiction again for the first time since this whole pandemic thing started, basically. It’s definitely brightened my mood, though I haven’t yet been able to fit it in to a workday yet, so I’m still trying to hammer out the kinks on really embracing that hobby again. It’ll be nice to have writing numbers to share in a month wrap-up again.
Anyway, the month wrap-up will be next week. Enjoy y’alls turkey day if you celebrate, and stay safe. TTFN.
